VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Peace Corps North Macedonia is a US government agency and seeks qualified and motivated candidates for the full-time position of:

Program Specialist

Working under the supervision of the Director of Programming and Training (DPT), the Program Specialist (PS) will be responsible for the main areas of Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation (MRE); Small Grants; and Program Support.

 

Collaborating with Program Managers and Peace Corps Volunteers, the PS will be responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of data which guides and supports the Peace Corps program in North Macedonia. The PS also uses the data to promote Peace Corps North Macedonia through publications and other avenues.

 

The PS will be responsible for programmatic management of Peace Corps’ Small Grants program. This includes serving as the liaison with Peace Corps Headquarters and USAID, managing the Volunteer Small Grants Committee, and developing policies and guidelines for a smooth process.

 

The PS will be responsible for supporting site identification and development in collaboration with Program Managers and Regional Managers. The PS will support Peace Corps efforts in the areas of inclusive education, youth development, TEFL and community development.

 

The PS will need to be able to maintain electronic files and databases with close attention to detail; the PS may be assigned special projects and other duties.

Location: Skopje, with some travel within North Macedonia

Salary:1,358,224.00MKD/per year. This is a Full-Time position. No relocation expenses will be covered.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

Other: Preference will be given to candidates who are permanent residents of the host country or region, or who are Citizens of the host country or region.

 Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

·         University Degree in any field

·         Five (5) years of relevant professional experience working in the areas of program management, grant administration, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, training or similar field

·         Minimum 2 years of professional experience in North Macedonia working with an NGO, international organization, or government agency

Language: Bi-lingual written and spoken fluency in Macedonian and English

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Demonstrated experience with statistical and data analysis, interpreting data, creating presentations from data collected from the field, using data interpretation to guide programmatic goals

·         Demonstrated experience with writing grants and/or grants administration

·         Demonstrated experience with data visualization and producing quality reports using numeric data, text, and graphics

·         Excellent computer skills including demonstrated experience with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, databases

·         Demonstrated experience with training and with giving presentations to diverse audiences, in local language(s) and English

·         Demonstrated experience working cooperatively in a cross-cultural team

Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

·         Ability to multi-task and remain detail-oriented

Ability to travel regularly throughout North Macedonia periodically [transportation provided by Peace Corps]

 Desired Qualifications:

·         Experience with Adobe, Canva, or other similar software for reporting and data visualization

·         Experience with other data processing software

·         Proficiency in Albanian language

 

Estimated Start Date: May 2020, contingent on successful background investigation

 Security Clearance: After an offer is made, the selected candidate is required to successfully pass a background investigation conducted by the U.S. Embassy in Skopje.
