VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTPeace Corps North Macedonia is a U.S. government agency and seeks qualified and motivated candidates for the full-time position of:
Driver / General Services Assistant (GSA)
Under the supervision of the General Services Specialist, the Driver/General Services Assistant (GSA) is responsible for performing maintenance of the Peace Corps office and leased residences and for providing transportation services for Peace Corps staff, Volunteers, other personnel, property, and equipment throughout North Macedonia and Kosovo. The Driver/GSA ensures that vehicles are properly maintained and operated according to Peace Corps and U.S. government guidelines and manufacturer specifications. The Driver/GSA is required to assist with other administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
This position requires frequent travel. Most duties will occur during a 40-hour work-week; however occasional work on evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. The Driver/GSA will be required to serve as on-call emergency duty driver on a rotating basis.

Location: Skopje, with frequent travel within North Macedonia and Kosovo
Salary: 88,162.00MKD/per month (gross amount). This is a Full-Time position. No relocation expenses will be covered. The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by HR.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Professional Experience
· High School or Vocational School Diploma.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a full-time, professional driver, including:
o Minimum 2 years as a full-time, professional driver with an international organization such as embassy, international company, or international NGO.
· Minimum 1 year of work experience in performing basic property and vehicle maintenance.
· Valid driver’s license (B category) and clean driving record.
Language: Fluent Macedonian and English (both written and oral).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Able to perform moderate physical labor and lift up to 25kg.
· Familiarity with local roads and traffic laws and regulations in North Macedonia and Kosovo.
· Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic vehicle repair.
· Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing skills to perform minor property repairs.
· Intermediate computer skills (ability to navigate internet, take online training courses, complete online forms, respond to emails, and basic Microsoft Excel knowledge).
· Demonstrated ability to take initiative to resolve problems.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team.
Ability to pass a medical exam, background check, and maintain a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Additional written and verbal proficiency in Albanian.Estimated Start Date: May 2024, contingent on successful background investigation and availability of funds.
Medical Exam and Security Clearance: After an offer is made, the selected candidate is required to successfully pass a medical exam and background investigation conducted by the U.S. Embassy in Skopje.

A relative is defined as “husband, wife, domestic partner, member of household, father, father-in-law, stepfather, mother, mother-in-law, stepmother, son, son-in-law, stepson, daughter, daughter-in-law, stepdaughter, brother, brother-in-law, half-brother, sister, sister-in-law, half-sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, or niece.” Otherwise, state “I am not related to a current Peace Corps staff member” in the body of the email.
b. Clearly state in the body of the email if you have ever served Peace Corps as a Trainee or Volunteer (including Response), or as a staff member (USDH, PSC, or FSN), and if so, identify the position location, position type, job title, and starting and ending dates. Otherwise, state “I have no experience in Peace Corps” in the body of the email.
5. Do not include any other items aside from what is described above. For example, do not attach letters of reference or certificates as these documents will not be considered for your application.

As part of an approved detail, the individual may be requested to perform work that may be specifically in line with or may add to the duties stated in the contract. Preference will be given to candidates who are citizens or permanent residents of the host country or region.
