 The United States Peace Corps is a U.S. government agency in North Macedonia and seeks qualified and motivated candidates for a temporary full-time position as:

 Pre-Service Training (PST) Host Family and Logistics Assistant

Working under the direct supervision of the Training Manager, the Pre-Service Training (PST) Host Family and Logistics Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support of the Pre-Service Training (PST) program including recruitment and selection of local families that will serve as hosts to the Peace Corps Trainees for the duration of the Pre-Service Training (PST).

The PST Host Family and Logistics Assistant will serve as the main liaison between the training communities and the Peace Corps office which will include but not be limited to official and unofficial contacts with local government officials, and contacts with other organizations such as schools, businesses and NGOs.

The PST Host Family and Logistics Assistant will have a variety of responsibilities, including identification of local host families, managing training facilities and training staff housing, transportation needs, supplies/equipment and correspondence. This position will be based in Skopje and will involve frequent travel to various communities around North Macedonia and may require weekend/evening work.

Employment Dates: May – December 2024

 Salary: Daily rate of 4,402 MKD (gross)

 Qualifications:

Required:

·         University degree in any field.

·         Minimum one-year prior work experience.

·         Any experience working with foreigners, preferably Americans.

·         Fluency in written and spoken Macedonian and English.

·         Strong communication and networking skills.

Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. No criminal record and ability to pass a basic background check conducted by the U.S. Embassy in Skopje.

 Desired:

·         Experience in event planning and/or logistics.

Fluency in written and spoken Albanian.

·         Contacts and familiarity with the communities around North Macedonia.

·         Good public relations skills.

The individual may be asked to complete one or more temporary duty assignments at other Peace Corps posts, transfer to another Peace Corps post, or to complete a detail with another USG Agency, a Peace Corps Headquarters office, or with a post other than the post of assignment.  As part of an approved detail, the individual may be requested to perform work that may be specifically in line with or may add to the duties stated in the contract. Preference will be given to candidates who are citizens or permanent residents of the host country or region.
