Dispatch Team Leader and Operations Manager (Trucking)
The ideal candidate for our Dispatch Team Leader and Operations Manager position will be responsible for building a team of dispatchers, setting up offices and managing daily business operations. Our Dispatch and Operations Manager will train and manage dispatch/operations group on tasks associated with daily business functions, orders, pickups, deliveries; Track shipments, liaise with customers, check all areas of the supply chain for efficiency and ensure that operations run smoothly; Build relationships with drivers and coworkers to foster a productive work environment that focuses on teamwork and efficiency; Direct and assist drivers; Complete paperwork related to transportation ; Develop or revise company policies and implement plans that increase profits; Communicate with other department managers, settle customer complaints related to freight shipments and deliveries, claims and other;
Responsibilities:
Manage the fleet and day to day operations
Book and schedule freight
Ensure loads are picked up and delivered on time by tracking driver activity; Schedule pickups and deliveries as needed
Advise drivers and help them manage their time using ELD to continually improve daily and weekly mileage performance
Assist drivers as needed with other departments
Communicate with drivers throughout the load transit to build good relationship
Keep drivers informed and motivated
Resolve and mediate driver conflicts and problems to avoid driver turnover
Assist and address potential claims, accidents, incidents immediately with safety and claims department
Record and maintain files and records
Other tasks as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 2 year of experience with US based trucking is mandatory (applications without required experience will not be considered)
DAT familiarity is required
US geography knowledge
Fluent English (both written and spoken)
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Basic knowledge of MS Office and computer skills
