Our Client, a company which produces special trucks for the European market is starting up the manufacturing operations of trucks in South-West part of Macedonia, first in a rented facility, later in a new greenfield plant. 

For their new facility launching in the free trade zone in South-West part of Macedonia, the Client offers the following new and exciting career opportunity:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Operational and Project Management (phase 1):

Recruitment of the local workforce (30 people in phase 1, in phase 2,  at full capacity 380 people ); Directs daily operations activities; Start-up and implement the manufacturing processes and capabilities for producing the Trucks; Ensure workforce is adequately trained in the facility; Search and negotiate with local suppliers in coordination with the purchasing teams; Manages all quality, environmental health and safety compliance; Directs compliance to all corporate standards and all regional and local regulatory laws; Plans and manages the financial aspects of the facility; Project management of the construction of the new building. Launch RFQ to developers. Compare the quotes and make summary for final decision; Coordinates the construction of the new plant and ensure functionality, timing and budget are achieved; Work well with the parent company team, and be able to accept and discuss input but be able to drive your points with logic; Promotes facility through involvement in community and area organizational functions.

The following responsibilities are for phase 2 (managing the new plant):

Operational Management:

Directs daily plant activities; Manages all quality, environmental health and safety compliance; Ensures processes and capabilities are in place for flawless product launch; Drives development of facility’s processes for future capabilities; Directs compliance with ISO-9000, all corporate standards and all sovereign regional and local regulatory laws; Utilizes the Manufacturing Operations methodologies of to develop and execute systems and processes that meet or exceed plant goals for quality, safety, cost, and production and material control; Provides resources to support facility and customer needs.

Financial Management:

Plans and manages all financial aspects of the facility (AOP, capital, etc.); Plans and manages forecasting, labor productivity & efficiency and asset utilization; Manages inventory levels to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of working capital targets; Drives cost leadership initiatives for margin improvements.

People Management:

Sets the example for Coaching & Developing by completing a critical self-appraisal of performance / skills, engaging with supervision to address gaps and improve performance. Coaches others in the same manner; Sets plant goals and cascades those goals to staff ensuring alignment with strategic imperatives; Utilizes performance management systems to coach and provide performance feedback;Champions the development of all team members, mentors employee performance and establishes development and improvement plans; Ensures development of key positions for succession planning; Drives employee engagement throughout facility.

Communication and Reporting:

Leads facility presentations and communications meetings on a regular basis to ensure alignment of all employees with the facility and company goals; Drives “open door” philosophy throughout facility to enhance employee / labor relations; Promotes facility through involvement in community and area organizational functions.
